Nice to meet you.
Sue Macartney was born in a remote coastal community in British Columbia, Canada. While the ocean and rainforest have remained close to her heart, since childhood she has been on the move, living in West and East Africa, the Caribbean, France, Central Canada, Japan, India and Scandinavia. This journey, weaving in and out of different cultures and landscapes, fed her curiosity and lively imagination. After obtaining an MA in Anthropology, her abiding love of art and drawing eventually led to an honours degree in Graphic Design.
Her adventures - global and professional - continued, with work as a graphic designer for the Yokohama Chamber of Commerce and as a primary school art specialist in Stockholm. She currently teaches the nature sketch program at The Bateman Foundation, in Victoria, British Columbia.
